Colorful spider

Posted by Harry (Apex, NC, United States) on 9 December 2016 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

I know this is not a great photo, but when I saw this spider I had to get a shot. I actually took about a dozen, trying a couple of lenses and different angles. There was a lot of glare behind it, so I had to get really low, and I took this shot with my 50mm prime and an extension tube. My lens was practically on the spider's butt, so I was surprised it did not scurry away.

Welcome to all. I began blogging Retained-Images in 2004 at It is gone now.

I think it's fine. It is not easy to capture living beings. And less easy small and moving.
