Huge old tractor

I wish I knew more about this old tractor. I'm not even sure whether it steam or gas powered. There was a plaque on the back (looked original) that said 60 HP. I commented to a friend that 60 HP is hardly more than some riding mowers have today, and he replied "yeah, but in the day, who could imagine 60 horses hitched to a plow?"

What a fantastic machine. It suddenly reminds me of a long-gone neighbour who had a similar vintage traction engine in his back yard and which, when started up, would rattle the crockery in my cupboards !

I bet it was noisy when it was operating. It's fun to go out and watch these machines in demonstration. The manpower needed to operate a farm in those days.

Bel engin ! Il a des points communs avec ma machine à vapeur qui était utilisée pour le battage !
