Knob and lock box

This is definitely an old know, with the lock mechanism in a box attached to the door rather than buried inside the wood.

Love these old knobs. Black and white worked well in drawing our attention to the lock and the textures.

I think it is true to say that we do not take notice of a door knob, as most of us see one every day. Looking at your image, I see something quite artistic, the way you photograph this object in black and white, bringing out the rich texture and rust around the lock. Sorry to go on about it, but I really like this great image. 5*

@Shaun: Thank you for your kind words. How can I be critical of the lenggth of your post when you say so many nice things.

Beautiful tones accompanied by excellent textures!! Interesting how something so mundane can tell a story here, particularly with the skeleton keyhole. To answer your question you posed on my blog today, just click on the link "archive" at the top of your page. You have 1,832 images. :-)
