Boulders along the path

Posted by Harry (Apex, NC, United States) on 16 July 2017 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

We hiked up Roan Mountain to get some sunset photos. The paths were well marked and gentle, and even mostly paved, though some sections were graveled. Along the way we saw sights like these large rocks in the foreground of the mountain vistas.

Welcome to all. I began blogging Retained-Images in 2004 at It is gone now.

Nice shot. The rocks in the foreground offer a commentary on the whole mountain range.

Wouldn't we like to know the history of these rocks. How they came to be here stacked up like that. A very interesting picture.
