Bridge over Middle Prong

A different river than yesterday, a different bridge, but the same trip to the Smokey Mountains. If you look closely at the tree just to the left of the fallen log, you might notice it is is the same tree I posted on July 29, and whose roots and rocks I posted on July 30. Three photos taken in perhaps a 20 foot (6 meter) circle.

what impresses me is someone didn't just build a bridge to get across the creek, they put an arch in it to hold more weight, and of course the cement supports will last decades. I also recognize the tree root you pointed out, nicely done.

@Jerry: I believe this bridge (and trial) were built during the Great Depression by the CCC (a Government mak
e-work project).

So many places to walk, as many different landscapes and bridges
Another wonderful place to take a little cool, the kind of quiet place I love
