Green Tarpaper Barn

Back behind the outhouse, where the field gave way to woods, this old barn sheltered some hay, but looked a bit decrepit

It is amazing that it is still in use. It looks like it could fall at any time. I have never seen a barn made out of tarpaper. It does have a lot of character.

@Elaine Hancock: here in the south. many small barns (especially tobacco drying barns) are sheathed in tar-paper. This green is a predominant color, but I have seen browns and reds as well,
