The Dragon Bridge has 4 identical dragon sculptures on its four corners. It is a road bridge located in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It crosses the Ljubljanica River between Kopitar Street and Ressel Street It was built in the beginning of the 20th century, when Ljubljana was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. A When the bridge was completed, it was dedicated to Franz Joseph I of the Habsburg Dynasty to commemorate forty years of his rule from 1848 to 1888.ted as a technical monument.

The dragons are in honor of a legend that Jason was the founder of Ljubljana, and he and his Argonauts killed a dragon. This is one of the four dragon statues in the bridge. According to local legends, when a virgin crosses the bridge, the dragons will wag their tails. Some local people have nicknamed this structure "mother-in-law" because of its fiery nature.

I like the golden light on the rooftops and a good look at this impressive sculpture. I didn't realize my namesake Jason was connected to Slovenia as well as Greece, but I guess its all around the same general area.

@Jason Kravitz: you should read the Wikipedia page on this bridge. It provides more info on the style of the bridge and its popularity. You can also follow links to related info, perhaps on your namesake.

They spared no expense or imagination in its design! You captured it from the right PoV, showcasing its many parts, including the tongue. Mother-in-law because of its fiery nature?? LOL. Poor MIL's everywhere.

@Steven: Of course I shot all 4 dragons, and some of them from several angles' so part of my success is perseverance
